Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast dust thundershowers in the upper parts of the country during June 04-07, which will reduce the intensity of hot weather conditions.
After the rain this week, the heat wave will subside and residents will get some relief from the heat.
A deep westerly wave will enter the upper and central parts of the country on Tuesday evening or night and may continue for the next 03 days.
Under the influence of this weather system, rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected over Gilgit-Baltistan including Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ganche, Shigar, Kashmir (Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian). Park, Haveli,
Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur from June 03 (afternoon/night) to June 08 with occasional gaps.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, heavy rain/thunderstorm is expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Kohat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Peshawar, Mardan and Kurram. / night) with occasional breaks.
Thunderstorm / Thunderstorm is expected in Punjab / Islamabad Islamabad / Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura. Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Hushab, Sargodha and Mianwali on June 04-06 with occasional gaps.
Isolated showers/thundershowers are expected at Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Multan and Layyah from 5th June (afternoon/night) to 07th June.
Dust storm / Thunderstorm with occasional intervals is expected in Quetta, Obob, Ziarat, Sherani, Kohlu, Musakhel, Dera Bugti and Barhan from June 5 (Evening/Night) to June 07 in Balochistan.
In Sindh, dust storm and isolated rain/gusty winds are expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore and Larkana on June 06 and June 07.
Possible impacts include PMD dust storms / wind storms and lightning on daily activities, crops, power poles, vehicles and solar panels etc. He said he could have influence.
Heatwave conditions are likely to subside in the country during the forecast period.
All relevant authorities are advised to be alert and take necessary measures to prevent any untoward incident.
