Peshawar: The Meteorological Department here said that it has predicted a chance of rain in most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Sunday except Peshawar where it will be clear, cool and partly cloudy.
According to a MET department official, there may be rain in the next 24 hours, while the upper districts of the province are likely to experience very cool and partly cloudy weather. Rain and snow may occur in the upper parts of the province in the evening.
“Rain and snowfall are likely to continue till February 27 and the minimum temperature has been recorded at 8 degrees Celsius and is likely to rise to a maximum of 18 degrees Celsius. The humidity ratio in the air has been recorded as high as 65%,” the official said.

“In view of the rains and snowfall, the management of the city district was ordered to take preventive measures,” he added.
“There is a risk of landslides in the upper districts due to snowfall and rains and the lowest temperature in the province was recorded in Malam Jabba at minus 4 degrees Celsius,” the official said.
“Tourists and local people in sensitive upland areas are advised to be aware of the weather conditions and take precautionary measures,” another PDMA official said.
He said tourists should be informed about the weather situation and tourists should take special precautions when traveling to these areas.
