RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has amended Rule 9-3 of the Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules, 1969 to facilitate the citizens.
Due to this amendment, the process of obtaining a driving license will be easier because the time required from six weeks has been reduced to 15 days, said Taimur Khan, City Traffic Officer, Rawalpindi.
Following the order of Additional Inspector General (IG) Traffic, Mirza Faran Baig, CTP Rawalpindi informed that citizens who fail the driving and signature test can take the test after 15 days at the traffic center race course.
Previously, there was a 6-week waiting period for failing the driving test, which the CTO added, and now it will be easier to get a license, and the six-week period is reduced to 15 days so citizens can get a driver’s license.
Licensing facilities are available every day for the convenience of the citizens at the headquarters racing ground, Taimur Khan said that the citizens should get their driving license immediately.
Driving without a driving license is not allowed on the roads, the trade body said.
He reported a $2,000 fine for driving without a license.
