In order to provide relief to the people, the Punjab government announced a record reduction in the price of flour bags in various parts of the province.
This decision was taken in response to the government’s commitment to ease the financial burden of citizens due to economic difficulties.
According to Punjab Food Minister Bilal Inasi, a 10 kg bag of flour is sold for $800 in Lahore and Sargodha divisions, while the same bag is sold for $830 in Faisalabad division. Similarly, a resident of Sahiwal division can buy a 10 kg bag for $820, while a resident of Gujrat division can buy it for $850.
It costs $860 in DG Khan Division and $870 in Bahawalpur Division, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi and Multan divisions saw a slight increase, with a 10 kg bag selling at $900.
Bilal Inasin explained that this price reduction is not only beneficial to consumers but also affects the price of naan and bread. He said the initiative was part of the Punjab government’s wider efforts to alleviate the financial hardships of the people and promote economic stability in the region.
