Chakwal: A recent incident in Nila village, Chakwal, has raised concerns about political violence and enmity between two groups. Ghazala Safdar, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) District Vice President Women Wing, miraculously survived an alleged firing incident on her vehicle. The incident occurred when Ghazala Safdar was on her way to visit the relatives of a deceased person, and the opposing party opened fire on her car.
According to Ghazala Safdar’s complaint, four individuals, including Hamza Safdar and Umar Safdar, and two unknown persons were involved in the incident. She cited political opposition as the reason behind the attack. The incident is linked to a longstanding feud between the Chaudhry Maqsood Neela group and the Muhammad Safdar group, which resulted in the death of Chaudhry Maqsood’s brother Muhammad Asif in 2021.
The incident occurred on the same day, the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench commuted the death sentence of Muhammad Safdar and Jahanzeb Safdar to life imprisonment in the Nila murder case. The case involved a clash between Chaudhry Maqsood Neela Group and Muhammad Safdar group in 2021, resulting in the death of Chaudhry Maqsood’s brother Muhammad Asif. However, the police have not yet arrested the accused or registered an FIR on Ghazala Safdar’s request, sparking concerns about the impartiality of the investigation.
The opposing parties have accused each other of involvement in the firing incident, with Ghazala Safdar claiming that the accused belong to the ruling political party Muslim League-N. The incident highlights the growing concerns about political violence and the need for a fair and impartial investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
