RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has reaffirmed that he has called for a protest outside the General Headquarters (GHQ).
Speaking to reporters at Adiala Jail on the occasion of the Toshakhana reference hearing, Imran Khan said that he had indeed called for the protest outside GHQ. “I confirmed it in my three vlogs,” he said.
He mentioned that he had ordered his party to stage a peaceful protest at GHQ and also to protest in the cantonment in case of arrest. “I mentioned it twelve times during the police investigation,” he added.
He emphasized that protests take place where problems arise. When asked by reporters why the protest was not peaceful, he replied that the protest was not peaceful because a plan was made. “Every institution should be subject to criticism,” he said.
Imran Khan also revised his stance on the “neutral animals” statement, clarifying that “neutral animals do not exist; they are non-political”. He explained that his intention was for the army to remain neutral.
Recently, Imran Khan admitted calling for a protest outside GHQ while talking to reporters in Adiala, but PTI leader Asad Qaiser denied it.
However, PTI chairman Salman Akram said that the party and Imran Khan had decided that a protest should be held at GHQ.
