Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today received Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, who is leading a high-powered delegation on an official visit to Pakistan.
The Prime Minister expressed his deep appreciation to the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and conveyed his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance Pakistan attaches to its long-standing fraternal, economic and strategic relations with Saudi Arabia. He said that the two countries have always stood by each other.
delegation led by the Foreign Minister immediately following his visit was a demonstration of the strong commitment of both countries to strengthen bilateral relations aimed at mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
In this regard, the Prime Minister said that the two sides must work closely together to expedite the first phase of Saudi investment in Pakistan under the new arrangement.
The Prime Minister briefed the delegation about the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and its initiatives to promote investment in Pakistan. He also highlighted the key role of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir and the cooperation of all institutions to promote investment in the country through SIFC.
The Saudi Foreign Minister expressed gratitude for the warm welcome his delegation received and emphasized that Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to its strong and close ties with Pakistan.
The escalation of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories was also discussed.
