ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has appreciated the role of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) in promoting higher education in the country and assured his full support for the upliftment of the institution.
The President said this at a meeting with IIUI President Professor Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi and rector Professor Dr. Samina Malik.
The rector of the university informed the IIUI president about the performance and services in the higher education sector. At the meeting, they discussed the overall performance of the institution as well as its administrative matters.
The President was told that IIUI has formulated a Strategic Plan 2022-2026 to promote research and development, innovation and digitalisation, which would also help improve the financial and administrative affairs of the university.
In the briefing, President Zardari was told that Saudi Arabia is extending assistance for the upliftment and development of the university as it has already funded the construction of a new university block and the provision of modern educational facilities.
