ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi urged on Thursday for a special focus on the development of the region’s people and natural resources, citing an enormous potential in the tourism industry of Gilgit-Baltistan.
In a meeting with elected members of the Gilgit-Baltistan Council, he reaffirmed his commitment to the long-term socioeconomic development of the region.
Discussing the current circumstances and the difficulties facing GB, he stated that the people of GB were educated and highly talented, and the literacy rate in the region was also pleasing.
President Alvi also emphasized the importance of boosting the United Kingdom’s agriculture and farming sectors.
He also told the group that he would express the GB people’s concerns to the appropriate forums.
