LAHORE: Asif Ali Zardari, co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), stated on Wednesday that his party intends to name foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari premier of NA-127 (Lahore).
Zardari stated in NA-127 (Lahore) that the masses and party workers have faith in me. I had no desire to go to jail, but I always went for the sake of the people.
“I had planted a mango tree at Kot Lakhpat jail. Seven years later, I ate fruit from the same plant. “The local party workers used to meet me in jail,” recalled the former president.
“Recounting the party’s activeness in the country’s political landscape, Zardari said: “We have been staging politics for the past 40 years.”

Zardari and former Punjab governor Chaudhry Sarwar met on Tuesday to discuss the country’s political condition.
Sarwar visited Zardari at Bilawal House in Lahore. On this occasion, the former president thanked Sarwar for pledging to support PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari in NA-127.
Both politicians also spoke about political strategy in Punjab’s political scene.
In light of the upcoming elections, both Zardari and Sarwar stressed the importance of holding honest votes in the country.
