In Dadu under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mukhtiar Ali Abro, a meeting was held to ensure the success of the seven-day polio eradication campaign starting on October 28. A public awareness rally was also organized. The meeting, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Dadu, reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming campaign, which will be conducted in coordination with the Health Department of Dadu, WHO officials, and the police.
Deputy Commissioner Mukhtiar Ali Abro instructed all relevant officials to collaborate to make the campaign successful. During the meeting, he emphasized that no child should miss the polio drops during the campaign. He highlighted the need to spread awareness among parents about the dangers of polio, encouraging them to protect their children. He also directed the police to ensure the security of polio teams and respond swiftly to any issues that may arise.
The campaign aims to immunize 407,723 children against polio, with the help of 1,085 teams, 280 area in-charges, 112 team supervisors, and police personnel. Assistant Commissioners, Mukhtiarkars, and Tapedars will also be available to assist the polio teams.
During the campaign, polio workers stationed at various locations, such as bus stops and main junctions, will be provided with security. A total of 1,493 male and female police officers from the Dadu police force have been deployed to ensure the safety of these teams and the success of the campaign.
After the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Abro led a public awareness rally. He urged parents to ensure their children receive the two polio drops necessary for protection.
