Bollywood actor Tamannaah Bhatia has been summoned by the Maharashtra Cyber Police in connection with Mahadev’s multi-crore online gambling and betting scam, officials said here on Thursday.
According to officials, Bhatia said Mahadev supported and promoted watching IPL matches online on Fairplay, one of the group’s apps.
The actress was asked to appear before the cyber police on Monday, April 29, and recorded as a witness in the investigation into the alleged leak of the IPL 2023 series in the program.
Bhatia, who is known for her role in Baahubali and other films, music industry players like Sanjay Dutt and Eline Fernandez, apart from singer Badsha, has arrested more than 425 people from various fields.
As more skeletons escape, many state and central agencies are investigating Mahadev’s software fraud, which is said to be worth more than $6,000 million.
After the fraud was revealed in 2021, many celebrities, entertainment personalities, business people and others with political patronage were involved.
Six more FIRs have been lodged in India and the Enforcement Directorate has also launched a multi-pronged probe after the money laundering angle came to light.
