KARACHI: Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf said on Friday that the Pakistan Navy Engineering College (PNEC) has consistently fostered and fostered a strong research and development culture.
At the 36th convocation ceremony, as the chief guest, CNS felicitated PNEC for launching postgraduate and undergraduate programs in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science and Informatics.
He also congratulated the Chancellor of NUST and the Commander of PNEC for the inaugural graduation of the BE Naval Architecture batch, a press release from the Directorate General of Public Relations (Pak Navy) said.
Admiral Naveed Ashraf extended his congratulations to the award winners, graduates and their parents for their successful graduation.
He advised the graduates to maintain a strong character, prioritize national interests over personal gains and always seek guidance and strength from Allah Almighty (SWT).
Earlier, PNEC Commander, Commodore Mudassar Khurshid, reiterated PNEC’s commitment to provide quality education in all disciplines.
He also recognized the exceptional achievements of the students at various national and international events.
In addition, the Rector of NUST highlighted in his speech that the university’s international ranking has improved significantly this year, moving up 14 places in the global ranking; reflecting her unwavering commitment to excellence in education.
During the convocation, the CNS honored 33 outstanding office holders with medals. In addition, the Chancellor of NUST awarded degrees to 372 postgraduate and undergraduate students.
Also present at the event were Commander Karachi, Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi and Rector of NUST, Lt. Gen. Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif Mirza (Retd).
The convocation was attended by a large number of civil and military dignitaries as well as the parents of the graduates.
