ISLAMABAD: Director General of Meteorology Mehr Sahibzada Khan said that the maximum temperature is expected to rise above normal on Tuesday and everyone should take proactive measures to protect themselves from the adverse effects of the upcoming heat wave in the coming weeks.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and dry weather for most parts of the country for the next 24 hours.
He urged people to stay indoors as much as possible during extreme heat, stay cool, and wear protective clothing when going out to avoid heat waves.
He also recommends people drink enough fluids to stay hydrated.
In response to a query, he said that the Met department has issued a fresh advisory warning about rising heat and the possibility of rain in some areas.
The DG advises herdsmen to protect their cows during extreme heat as well. He also asked the farmers to adjust their working conditions according to the weather conditions.
He said meteorologists predicted that this year’s monsoon could be unprecedented, affecting Balochistan and Sindh.
He said that with climate change and the return of wet years in recent years, the river also began to record excess flow and levels that increased the positive effect of rainfall.
“Tourists and travelers should be aware of the weather conditions before going,” he said
As more monsoon rains are expected this year, appropriate measures should be taken,” he said.
