Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday said that the federal government will provide maximum assistance and resources for the welfare of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He expressed this view in a meeting he had with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi at the Prime Minister’s House.
Issues related to the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province were discussed in the meeting.
Earlier, Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah discussed issues related to KP province with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
The minister said that the federal government would fully support the KP provincial government and said that all issues could be resolved through mutual dialogue and consultation.
He said protest is a fundamental and constitutional right of every citizen, but no political agenda is allowed to be shut down. Degradation of government records will not be allowed anywhere in the country. Without criminal prosecution against public records, anarchy and chaos will reign.
Faisal Karim Kundi said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has lagged behind other provinces due to lack of governance in the last decade. He said that the provincial government is now completely against the state record. He asked for the support of the provincial government for the welfare of the people.
He also stressed the need to introduce youth games in KP colleges and revive first-class cricket, which has been dormant for the last 15 years. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cricket League will start as soon as possible.
