ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday made a surprise visit to various tool shops across the federal capital to inspect the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Ramazan Relief Package.
During the visit, he interacted with the beneficiaries of the program and asked if they faced any problems while using the package.
He tasked the concerned authorities to ensure that the eligible beneficiaries of the relief package do not face any problem in availing the facility.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the Federal Government has announced a historic Ramazan relief package worth Rs 12 billion under which edible items will be provided to deserving families at subsidized prices during the holy month of Ramazan at Utility Stores across the country. Earth. Besides, he said under the package, additional scholarship will also be given to families registered under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that under the federal government’s Ramazan rescue package, a subsidy of R77 per kg was given on wheat flour, while a subsidy of R100 per kg was offered on ghee besides a subsidy of 20-30% on other food items like rice, pulses, sugar etc. for deserving families.
He informed that under the package, BISP beneficiaries will get an additional scholarship worth Rs 10,000 each, while under the Kafalat scheme, thousands of families from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Balochistan will get an additional amount of Rs 2,000 each.
The Prime Minister said he has appointed several teams to make surprise visits to various USC outlets to check the availability and quality of food, adding that strict action will be taken against those involved in selling substandard items in the stores.
During his visit, he expressed his satisfaction with the availability of subsidized goods in stores in sufficient quantities.
He opined that the blessed month of Ramazan will bring peace, prosperity and development to the country.
He also thanked the ministers and all concerned officials and departments for making this relief package possible. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Attaullah Tarar and Khawaja Muhammad Asif.
