Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif is leaving for China on a special invitation from Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of Finance and Revenue Mohammad Iqbal, Federal Minister for Petroleum Muzammil Malik, and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar are accompanying the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister’s visit to China holds immense significance for furthering economic cooperation between China and Pakistan, particularly in the second phase of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and enhancing bilateral strategic and economic relations.
During the first phase of his visit, the Prime Minister will visit the Chinese city of Shenzhen. He will participate in a business forum in Shenzhen to promote collaboration between business personalities and investors from both countries.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister will also visit Nanshan Window of the World for observation of the Window of the World operation. He will also tour the Huawei Headquarters in Shenzhen.
In the second phase of his visit, the Prime Minister will travel to Beijing. In Beijing, the Prime Minister will hold meetings with top Chinese leadership. He will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. The Prime Minister will also participate in the signing ceremony of various memorandums of understanding (MoUs) regarding cooperation between China and Pakistan in different sectors.
In Beijing, the Prime Minister will also meet with senior government officials, heads of various companies, and Chinese investors. He will also visit the People’s Monument in Beijing.
During the final phase of his visit to China, the Prime Minister will visit the Chinese city of Xi’an, where he will have meetings with local leadership. Alongside these meetings, the Prime Minister will visit modern farms and green technology companies to explore agricultural advancements and modern technology.
Throughout the visit, discussions will take place on not only the second phase of CPEC but also strategic cooperation in trade and investment, defense, national and regional security, energy, aerospace research, science and technology, education and skills, and cultural exchanges between Pakistan and China.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s visit to China will prove to be a significant milestone in furthering the partnership between both countries in a positive direction.
