ISLAMABAD: Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has alleged that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz are running a smear campaign against the judiciary.
In an interview with the media, Fawad said that the decisions of the courts were not respected.
He claimed that Shehbaz Sharif was going to make a speech against the conduct of the judiciary in the National Assembly.
“Such a speech by the prime minister will be a violation of the constitution,” he said.
Pakistan’s economy and politics are in crisis and attempts are being made to create a judicial crisis, he said. Shehbaz Sharif and Mayam Nawaz were leading an anti-judicial campaign, he said.
The Prime Minister could be disqualified for mocking the decision of the judiciary. After Maryam, PM-N MNAs and MPAs also mocked the judiciary.
