Petunia is a beautiful flower which can be truly termed as most popular flower worldwide. Beside global level, it is also grown in almost every city of Pakistan. To get seedlings, the seeds of Petunia are sown from September 15, till November. The seeds of the said flower are sized very small and can be sown by experienced people one.
The local nurseries bring the seedlings of Petunia to market from November 15 to January 15. These seedlings are shifted to ground in trays or pots. Firstly, they grow will very slow pace and need very low quantity of water.
After February 15, the Petunia seedlings grow rapidly and soon starts flowering. During February 15 to May 15, you can get very good flowers from it.
As the temperature rises after March 15, the Petunia plant needed to be watered more. The Petunia continues to flower till June and July in cold areas like Murree, Gilgit and Kaghan valley.
The Petunia flowers continue to bloom on roadside of the federal capital Islamabad till June.
In countries having low temperature, it is planted in May and June. In Beijing, China it is also planted in the month of May. Petunias have many types and several colours.
The three popular varieties of petunia planted in Pakistan are: common petunia, all-double petunia and hanging petunia. The flower of hanging petunia is a little smaller, but sometimes 60 to 100 flowers bloom on a single plant.
Apart from that, the black petunia is very unique and lovely. It is little difficult to grow petunia through small-sized seeds but getting seedling from local nurseries is best possible way to plant petunia flower. In Pakistan, the ideal time to shift its seedlings is until January 15.
