LAHORE: Cricketers around the world, including those from Pakistan, especially those who compete internationally and in major leagues like PSL, IPL and Big Bash, are earning big. At the peak of their careers, they make money through tournament fees, headlining contracts, sponsorships and endorsements.
In response to the growing questions regarding the Pakistan cricket team, the PCB has released the details of the monthly salaries of the members of the national team.
The PCB has shared the latest monthly salary details for the national team members, which shows a significant increase in all categories.
Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan are in category A and each has a monthly salary of 4.5 million rupees.
Category B includes players like Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah, whose monthly salary is up to Rs 3 lakh.
In categories C and D, the monthly salary ranges from Rs 75,000 to Rs 150,000. Emad Wasim is in category C and Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali and Saim Ayyub are in category D.
In addition, players in all three formats receive fixed match fees and match prizes which contribute to the overall revenue.
The new contract issued by the PCB has led to a significant increase in salaries.
Category A: 200% increase
Category B: 144% increase
Category C: 135% increase
Category D: 127% increase
The updates come as the PCB responds to further scrutiny of the Pakistan Cricket Team by making financial details of the team more transparent.
