LAHORE – Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was found guilty in an illegal recruitment case on Friday.
Acting Anti-Corruption Court Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta, who presided over the hearing, said Parvez Elahi could not attend the hearing due to illness.
The lawyer asked not to attend the hearing, citing health reasons. He was also issued a medical certificate stating that doctors have advised him to take complete rest due to rib and cardiovascular problems.
Finally, the court accepted Elahi’s request for release and adjourned until June 27.
The court also announced that charges would be filed against Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and other accused in the next trial.
