ISLAMABAD: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari on Tuesday said that the Parliament will complete its constitutional term as PML-N has always believed in practical work rather than tall claims and false promises.
In an interview with a private news channel, she said that the PML-N leadership wants democracy to flourish and no one should be allowed to derail the democratic process. The PML-N-led government will not allow anyone to destabilize the country, adding that the opposition must play a constructive role in strengthening democracy despite its vested interests.
She also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to punish all the people involved in the May 9 incident, adding that the cases registered against the miscreants would be taken to their logical conclusion. She warned that the government would not tolerate or make concessions to anyone who would try to destabilize the country.
The PTI leadership has sought a National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO), but its founder has to prove his innocence in court, she added. The PTI founder is spreading chaos to disrupt the democratic system in the country, she said, adding that PML-N always prioritizes values over power and decides national issues in consultation with other political parties.
