SWAT: The Pak Women Integrated Network (PAKWIN) collaborated with the Collision for inclusive Pakistan (CIP) organize a district convention aimed at strengthening women’s participation in socio-political and electoral processes. The event, held on International Women’s Day, drew an impressive crowd of 80 women and 200 young girls, all enthusiastic about contributing to the discourse on women’s empowerment.
Under the theme of slogan of PAKWIN “Empower Women, Empower Future,” the convention provided a platform for women from diverse professional backgrounds to share their experiences and insights. Esteemed speakers included Ex-MPA Advocate Sabra Shakir, Dr. Gulalai Khan, Salma Luqman from the United Nations, Shahnaz from GIZ, Nasir Ali, Assistant AC, Women SHO Neelum, and Gohar Khan from Qatar Charity. Representatives from various sectors, including the legal fraternity, police department, media outlets like senior journalist Niaz Ahmad Khan and Fayaz Zafer, and rescue services such as Rescue 1122, actively participated in the discussions.
The conversations revolved around the critical importance of women’s involvement in socio-political and electoral processes. Speakers highlighted the indispensable role women play in shaping the future of societies and stressed the need for creating conducive environments to facilitate their active engagement.
