SWAT: Pakistan Women Integrated Network (PAKWIN) organized a one-day Women Youth Convention in collaboration with Coalition for Enclave Safe Pakistan (CIP) at Mingora of Swat district.
.The chief guest of the convention was Assistant Commissioner Babuzai Swat Jawad Ahmed, while Deputy District Education Officer (DEDEO) Fazal Khaliq, Principal Riphah International Gul Panra, Sabra Shakir Advocate (former MPA), Jamila Ahmed (former MNA), Probation Officer Saima Azam, Dr. Saima and Malik Abrar Ahmad attended the event.
PAKWIN Project Coordinator Huma Shakir and Project Assistant Shahzad Hamad highlighted the objectives of the convention and said that the aim of this convention was to ensure women’s share in the inheritance and their inclusion in various sectors including the police force,which will prove to be a milestone in empowering women.
The guest speakers shed light in detail on the rights of women and the Sharia and legal part of inheritance and said that with the changing times, young women should also come forward and plan their future now.
They further said that women should definitely come to the police department because the problems faced by women applicants in police stations can be resolved in a good way.
While providing career counseling to young girls, the speakers said that they can now easily enter the police, civil services, education, practical politics, advocacy and other fields because there are opportunities for them in all fields now.
They also encouraged young women to achieve their rights and play an effective role in social development.
On this occasion, experts presented the challenges faced by women and suggestions for their solutions.
The students of various universities and educational institutions participating in the convention termed the convention a positive step and said that such activities will help them in determining the path of their future.
