ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s exports of goods and services to the United States (US) have registered an increase of 1.62 percent in the first two months of the current fiscal year (2024-2025) as compared to exports in the corresponding months of last year. This was informed by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP). Total exports to the US were recorded at USD 949.855 million during July-August (2024-25) against USD 934.666 billion during July-August (2023-24), SBP data revealed. On a year-over-year basis, exports to the US decreased to $473.838 million in August 2024 from $494.774 million in August 2023. Meanwhile, exports to the US recorded a month-on-month nominal decline of 0.45 percent during August 2024 compared to exports of $476.017 million in July 2024, SBP data revealed. Pakistan’s total exports to other countries registered an increase of 7.18 percent from USD 4536.015 million to USD 4862.017 million in the first two months, SBP data revealed. On the other hand, US imports into the country were recorded at USD 370.661 million in the months under review as against USD 350.977 million last year, showing an increase of 5.60 percent in July-August (2024-25). On a year-over-year basis, US imports also rose to $185.606 million in August 2024, while exports reached $176.497 million in August 2023. According to month-on-month data, US imports into the country during August 2024 registered a nominal decrease of 0.29 percent compared to imports of $185.055 million in July 2024.
