Central South University (CSU) set a new record by winning the 14th “Challenge Cup” Qin Chuangyuan Chinese College Students’ Entrepreneurship Plan Competition in Xi’an this November for the third time.
In these competitions, Pakistani student Javeria Noor and her team’s project in the field of energy won the silver medal.
Organized by Xi’an Jiaotong University, with the support of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Education, and the Shaanxi government, these competitions aimed to foster creativity and entrepreneurial skills among Chinese college students.
This year’s competitions saw impressive participation, with more than 3 million students from more than 2,700 universities in China and abroad submitting a record-breaking 390,000 projects. After several rounds of rigorous scrutiny, 412 Chinese universities and 14 international institutions made it to the finals, with 839 projects selected for the final stage.
In the Belt and Road Invitational Exchange event, CSU showed an impressive performance by winning one gold, three silver and three bronze medals. With these achievements, CSU won the title of “National Cup Winner” for the third time in a row, which is a new record.
One of CSU’s top projects was “Smart Energy Router for AC-DC Microgrid Optimization”, led by CSU Pakistani student Javeria Noor, along with colleagues Wu Tianko, Tang Wenjie, Alia Suleman, Ka Dong, Asifa Yuosaf, Tran Thanh Tuyen, Li Yuqi, Shadreck Luwe, and Izhar ul Haque. Under the guidance of Professors Song Dongran, Dong Mi, Yang Jian, and Xia Ye, the team developed an innovative solution for optimizing the energy grid.
Javeria Noor, in particular, stood out not only for her technical contributions but also as a symbol of international collaboration and talent at CSU. He is deeply grateful to his professors, teammates and especially his family, whose support and encouragement have been invaluable throughout the journey.
“Challenge Cup” has become an important platform for nurturing young talent in China, equipping students like Javeria Noor with the skills and motivation to drive the country’s technological and economic development.
