ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates enjoy unshakable relations based on common foundations of history, religion and culture, which have been strengthened over time in the best interests of the people of both countries.
This was stated by Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in an interview with the Deputy Head of Mission of the UAE Embassy Mohammad Sultan AlKaitoob, who arranged a meeting with him at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
On this occasion, the two sides discussed the possibilities of joint economic cooperation, ways of strengthening bilateral relations and explored available investment opportunities in the industry, trade, tourism and education sectors.
Ahsan Zafar Baktawari while mentioning the generous relief to the flood victims and the launch of various development projects by the UAE leadership informed the distinguished guest that the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry is considering an international tourism summit in the northern regions in the first week of July-2024 to showcase the rich tourism potential area which will hopefully be attended by more than twenty ambassadors from friendly countries and that it would be a great honor for ICCI to be joined by the UAE ambassador or his representative.
On its part, the DHM Embassy in the UAE highlighted the significance of the meeting, which provided a platform to discuss the possibilities of cooperation and partnership between the two brotherly states, stressing that the business communities of Pakistan and the UAE must explore new perspectives of cooperation for the benefit of the people on both sides by increasing the volume of trade in the coming days.
The visiting guest further said that he found the people of Pakistan to be very caring and hardworking and added that the exchange of specific information on areas of investment will go an extra mile in promoting this connectivity.
ICCI Group Leader Khalid Iqbal Malik said that there is enough potential to promote the prevailing social, cultural and economic ties that bind the two countries.
United Business Group Secretary General Zafar Zafar Bakhtawari also shed light on the historic cordial relationship between the two countries, describing the ICCI Business Opportunities Conference held in the UAE as very successful and result-oriented.
On the occasion ICCI members Rizwan Cheena and Ch. Maqsood Tabish along with Khalid Ch. Malik Nadeem Akhtar, Naima Ansari were also present.
