Beijing: Former Finance Minister Salman Shah has said that it is important for Pakistan to be China’s friend and partner in the Belt and Road Initiative through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
In an interview with China Media Group’s Urdu Service, he emphasized the mutual benefits of China-Pakistan relations and advocated increased investment, exports, tourism and communication between the two countries.
Salman Shah stressed the importance of China’s extensive cooperation with other countries, especially Pakistan, in adopting digitization, artificial intelligence and the emerging virtual economy.
He pointed to China’s status as the largest market in the world and said that it is an attractive opportunity for investors due to rising per capita income.
Salman Shah praised strategic initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative, which connects China with Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
As for China’s economic growth, he pointed to the power of innovative manufacturing driving China’s economic growth and the importance of China for global investors.
When asked about the role of the new standard production force in China’s development, he thought that China’s current development is astonishing.
He said that China is now leading the world in many new fields and that the world should learn from China’s economic model.
As for the new standard manufacturing power, China has said that it uses modern means in its development, including big data and artificial intelligence.
He rejected Western criticism of China’s so-called “economic superiority” and said China’s growth potential was huge.
He said the attractiveness of the Chinese market will become more stable as China pushes for innovation and growth. These characteristics make the Chinese market attractive to global stakeholders.
Salman Shah said that China is ready to cooperate with Pakistan and looks forward to mutually beneficial cooperation in the coming years.
