Islamabad: Amb. European Union Ambassador Riina Kionka paid a courtesy call to the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister thanked the EU leaders for congratulating him on his re-election and said he hopes to work closely with the EU. He said that Pakistan enjoys cordial and friendly relations with the United States and is satisfied with the existing institutional mechanisms that regularly meet to discuss the development of cooperation.
In particular, the Prime Minister appreciated the EU’s support to Pakistan through the GSP Plus program, which is now renewed until 2027. The Prime Minister asked for the support of the United Nations in providing support and expertise to Pakistan to carry out important reforms in various sectors.
The Ambassador briefed the Prime Minister on various cooperation initiatives, including migration and mobility issues between the two sides, as well as support for European businesses operating in Pakistan.
