Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Munir Akram, said that the Israeli government is carrying out illegal and inhumane actions in Gaza.
Ambassador Munir said that the United States has vetoed the decision of Palestine to become a full member of the United Nations and regretted that the permanent members of the United Nations Security Council did not reach an agreement to implement important decisions.
“Israeli govet committed illegal actions in Gaza and failed to fulfill the responsibilities in UN Security Council and General Assembly. However, the permanent members did not agree to implement the UN Security Council resolutions,” he said.
Member states must comply with every UN Security Council resolution, he said, including resolutions related to human rights violations in Gaza.
The ambassador said efforts are being made to conclude a Gaza peace deal at the United Nations. He also said that a special session on Palestinian membership will be held on Friday (today).
“The Security Council will be asked to review its decision at a meeting of the UN Security Council,” he said.
