PBC wraps up two-day economic conference

Discussions center on investment climate, energy, mining and institutional reform

Islamabad: The Pakistan Business Council (PBC) concluded the 4th Dialogue on the Economy 2025, marking the end of two days of focused discussions on Pakistan’s investment environment, fiscal challenges, energy sector reforms, mining potential, privatisation, and institutional transformation.

“Reform and responsible partnership are vital,” says PBC chairperson

In her closing remarks, Dr. Zeelaf Munir, Chairperson of Pakistan Business Council, emphasized the need for a unified national economic approach.

“Pakistan’s economic future depends on resilience, reform and responsible partnership,” she said. “No institution can deliver progress alone; all stakeholders need to believe in business. Documentation of the economy is necessary, and tax reform is essential for sustained growth.”

Dr. Munir added that PBC continues to provide evidence-based solutions while working closely with the government to develop growth-oriented policies.

Senior policymakers and industry leaders share insights

The conference featured keynotes and panel discussions with prominent policymakers including State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmad, Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Energy Minister Sardar Awais Leghari, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik, and Lt. Gen. Sarfraz Ahmed, National Coordinator of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

Industry experts and economic leaders discussed pathways for advancing reforms, strengthening coordination, and enhancing investor confidence as Pakistan enters a new economic cycle.

PBC reiterates long-standing commitment to business community

Marking twenty years of service, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to enabling both local and foreign businesses and strengthening Pakistan’s private-sector ecosystem. The Dialogue on the Economy 2025 conference, PBC noted, reflects its continued support for enterprises, providing them with a platform to engage, collaborate and shape policy.
