Pakistan on Sunday inflicted a humiliating seven-wicket defeat on Ireland in the second T20I at the Clontarf Cricket Club in Dublin.
Pakistan struggled in the first chase, losing Saim Ayub (6) and bowler Babar Azam (0).
But Rizwan and Fakhar paired up and formed an amazing relationship. The 140-run partnership is Pakistan’s highest for the 3rd wicket in T20Is, breaking the record of 105 between Rizwan and Haider Ali.
Rizwan was unbeaten on 75 off 46 thanks to four sixes and six fours, while Fakhar made 78 off 40 with six fours and a six.
Wicket-batsman Azam took Irish wickets, hitting 10 out of 30, which included four and four maximums.
Earlier, Ireland posted 193/7 after being bowled out by Pakistan in the first innings at Clontarf Cricket Club.
Pakistan chose to field and got off to a good start with Shaheen Afridi picking the first two wickets. He dismissed Paul Stirling (16) and Andy Balbir (11).
But Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker recovered for Ireland with a 62-run partnership. Tector scored 51 from 34 and Tucker was man of the match for the home team with 32 from 28.
Kurtis Kemper also scored 22 with 13 and Gareth Delaney made 28 with 10 not out for Clontarf Cricket Club, Ireland’s highest total.
Shaheen took three wickets but conceded 49, while Mohammad Amir finished with 1/44 in the first match of the series.
Abbas Afridi took two wickets for 33 runs while Naseem Shah took 36 runs.
The final of the tournament will be held on April 14 at the same venue.
