ISLAMABAD: Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) has established One Window Facilitation Desk (OWFD) at all international airports in the country to provide services to overseas Pakistanis.
An official source told APP here on Wednesday and said that OWFDs are stationed at every terminal (international arrival/departure) to assist overseas Pakistani passengers round the clock.
Courteous and trained officers represented in OWFD to ensure the provision of high quality facilitation and assistance to Overseas Pakistanis. The existing infrastructure at OWFD was modernized. In addition to the additional facilities, service delivery at counters at various airports has been improved with added staff/services.
He told the interviewee that OWFD provides various services including essential assistance to overseas Pakistanis at the time of arrival and departure.
Coordinating between various agencies/departments functioning at the airport to ensure smooth arrival and departure of overseas Pakistani passengers.
Special assistance to overseas Pakistanis who are physically challenged, senior citizens and travelers who do not maintain good health.
For help with lost and found luggage and for improving services/complaints at airports, these counters are contacted.
Overseas Pakistanis are also provided with necessary guidance for their onward flights and travel advice for their destinations in Pakistan.
He said information material about OPF and its projects/schemes in all international arrival/departure lounges.
OPF is also extending all possible assistance and providing free of cost ambulance service facilities from airport to hometown/village of deceased/disabled OPs. OPF employees represented at airports facilitate the removal of human remains by the family of the deceased and coordinate their timely transportation with the ambulance.
The OPF Airport Facilitation counters remain vigilant against any repatriation of overseas Pakistanis from abroad and provide all possible assistance for their onward journey to their home cities.
