Washington DC: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Ambassador Masood Khan said that the government and people of Pakistan are very understanding of the religious sentiments of the Sikh community and our doors are open to the Sikh community. He interacted with a delegation of the American Punjabi community who was invited to him at the Pakistan Embassy.
Gary Sikka, president of the American Punjabi Society, told the Pakistani ambassador that the society consists of one hundred thousand Punjabi Sikh members, some of whom are from Pakistan.
He said a delegation of 115 members of the American Punjabi community would visit religious places in Pakistan. Members of the delegation pointed to their previous visits, especially visiting Karthapura, and said that the hospitality of the Pakistani people was heartwarming. Pakistanis always like it a lot.
The delegation also thanked the Government of Pakistan for facilitating pilgrimages to places of worship by the Sikh community.
While welcoming the delegation at the embassy, Pakistani Ambassador Masood Khan said that the government and people of Pakistan respect the religious sentiments of the Sikh community and we will continue to give every opportunity to the Sikh community in this regard.
He said the visa policy related to religious tourism was simplified keeping in mind the religious sensitivities of followers of different religions and aimed at facilitating them.
He assured the delegation of all possible opportunities during the Pakistan visa and visits to various cities in Pakistan.
