A US-based non-profit organization, Our Program, successfully distributes meals to children in schools in Chitral and provides nutritious meals to all enrolled students. The school has been adopted by our Target Program to improve the quality of facilities and education. This initiative is part of our efforts to fight hunger, which is the main focus of the organization.
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly increased food security around the world. Many developing countries have experienced food inflation since the pandemic began. Today, 63.2% of low-income countries have inflation rates above 5%, making it more difficult for vulnerable populations to access basic needs. Our Mission Fund is dedicated to fighting inflation and reducing hunger.
Pakistan, particularly in South Asia, is an important geographic region where our Program is actively addressing food security issues. Food prices are rising in the region due to various geopolitical and socio-economic factors. Malnutrition remains a serious problem, with over 40% of children under 5 stunted in Pakistan.
“Our goal is to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry,” said Nisha Mandani, founder and CEO of Our Purpose Foundation. “By serving meals in Chitral schools, we are not only providing immediate relief, we are also supporting long-term health. This promotes the growth of the mind, body and spirit.”
