ISLAMABAD: The Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), an affiliated department of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD), would export skilled manpower to Ghana, Africa in the field of construction. An official source told APP here on Tuesday that the demand for Pakistani labor is increasing day by day in various countries as Pakistani laborers are very tough compared to other labor force in the countries of the region. He said Ghana requires a flooring and decorative concrete specialist with a minimum of 8 years of experience in concrete works, waterproofing and flooring systems. Experience with epoxy and polyurethane flooring systems, capable of waterproofing new construction and existing construction, able to cast perfectly straight concrete slabs and moldings, must speak and write English, understand building maps, basic computer skills (excel, word, etc.). The source revealed that a male aged 30-40 will be suitable for the above jobs and salary package $400-800 depending on candidate’s skills and experience. In addition to the working conditions, he stated that the company would provide accommodation, the company will provide transportation for local transfers (e.g. by motorcycle), return air ticket to their home country at the end of each year, if the employee does not want to return to Pakistan, he can claim a return air ticket of the same amount or one -month extra salary, whichever is higher. The company will not provide insurance. If necessary, the employee should take out the insurance himself. He said that candidate can apply through OEC website https://oec.gov.pk/.
