RAWALPINDI: A Rawalpindi court has issued a non-bailable warrant against PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat in connection with an illegal construction case.
The arrest warrant was issued by Civil Judge Muhammad Mumtaz Hinjra in response to a case filed by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA). The judge ordered the police to arrest Marwat and produce him before the court on July 30.
Sher Afzal Marwat is accused of unauthorized construction on his land near the Thalian Expressway. The Naseerabad police station registered a case in 2019, saying that Marwat had not obtained the necessary permits for the construction.
The court’s decision to issue a non-bailable warrant comes after Marwat’s continued failure to appear in court. His failure to attend previous hearings led to the issuance of this warrant, underscoring the legal consequences of disobeying court orders.
