DUBAI: The 2023 Men’s ODI Player of the Year nominations have been made public by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
Not a single Pakistani player, not even Babar Azam, who took home the Player of the Year trophy the previous two years, was listed among the contenders.
The Men’s ODI Player of the Year 2023 nominees are: Daryl Mitchell of New Zealand; Virat Kohli of India; Mohammed Shami of India; and Shabman Gill of India.
Women’s One Day Player of the Year 2023 nominees include England’s Nat Soireburnt, Australia’s Ashley Garner, New Zealand’s Emilia Kerr, and Sri Lanka’s Chimari Atapattu. Again, there are no Pakistani women recruited in this.
Men’s T20 Cricketer of the Year nominees include Surya Kumar Yadev of India, Elpesh Ramjani of Uganda, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, and Mark Chapman of New Zealand.

The ICC Emerging Men’s Cricketer of the Year nominees are Gerald Coetzee of South Africa, Yashaswi Jaswal of India, Dilshan Madhushanka of Sri Lanka, and Richan Ravindra of New Zealand.
The ICC Awards are chosen by popular vote. Later this month, the award recipients’ names will be revealed.
