ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar has said that we fully believe in the finality of prophethood and no one can be given the right to issue fatwa for murder.
Speaking in the National Assembly, Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar said that belief in the finality of prophethood is part of our faith and the state should have zero tolerance in this regard.
Azam Nazir Tarar mentioned that this is a legal issue that should be discussed in the parliament and the court has the power to interpret the constitution. The country’s system will operate in accordance with the constitution and the law.
He suggested that there were very good religious scholars in the country and the matter should be referred to a committee. Opinions should be formed after reading the decision word for word. This is a Sharia and constitutional issue and the committee will decide and inform the House what to do.
Azam Nazir Tarar said that while interpreting the constitution, some clauses were rewritten. The committee should be given a time frame so that the matter is not delayed.
The Federal Law Minister said that the Prime Minister has launched the National Hepatitis Program and people will get quality healthcare facilities.
