Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has praised Mohammad Amir, who recently reversed his retirement decision, and said he will gain valuable insight from the experienced left-armer ahead of the Ireland vs England T20I series.
Speaking to the media in Lahore on Sunday, Rauf said the competition among bowlers is important for the improvement of the team and highlighted the positive atmosphere in the team.
“Amir Agha is our brother. I learned a lot from him. The team benefits when there is competition between bowlers for points. There is no jealousy. You try to keep each other away for the benefit of the team,” he said.
Rauf, who is recovering from an injury sustained in the PSL 9 season, revealed his struggle to return to form.
“It’s always hard to come back from an injury, I’m trying to get back into the rhythm,” said Rauf.
Rauf also said that he is aiming for success in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 to right the wrongs of the past and bring happiness to Pakistan fans.
“We played great cricket in the last World Cup and reached the final. Now we try not to repeat that mistake.
