Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi chaired an important meeting at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters on Friday and took important decisions to transform Islamabad into a world-class city.
As directed by the minister, CDA is now only buying electric motorcycles to reduce environmental pollution in the future. Additionally, eco-friendly electric buses will be introduced for the citizens of Islamabad.
The Interior Minister also banned the purchase of ordinary motorcycles.
International standard emergency services will be provided to the citizens of Islamabad and emergency services will be transferred from MCI to CDA.
In addition, the establishment of waste management companies will also be accelerated. In addition to that, issues related to the establishment of capital waste management companies will be completed soon.
Home Minister Serena Chowk Underpass and F-9 Park Chowk Flyover project will start soon to relieve traffic congestion in Islamabad. He said the delayed Expressway project would be completed on priority. He said that the construction of the development in the underdeveloped sector of Islamabad will also be completed and the ownership will be given to the entrepreneurs.
He said that work on Islamabad Model Jail, which has been idle for 17 years, is progressing rapidly and the first phase will be completed within the stipulated time.
The Interior Minister said that a business center is now being established in Islamabad where investors will be provided with all the facilities under one roof.
Also, land has been allocated for a Health Tower in Sector H-16. The Minister of Interior congratulated the CDA team, including the CDA Chief, for their success in tax collection, but cautioned that no organization can be involved in the sale of land and land alone; therefore, it is necessary to develop organizational assets.
In this regard, the Minister of Home Affairs has ordered to prepare and present an investment plan within seven days.
The meeting reviewed progress in various ongoing development projects such as Kuri Enclave, renovation of the Federal Secretariat building, Diplomatic Enclave and smart parking.
CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa briefed the Federal Home Minister on various projects. CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa, Vice Chairman Islamabad Irfan Memon and all CDA members attended the meeting.
