ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in Karachi accepted the request of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials to withdraw the reference of illegal recruitment in Pakistan State Oil (PSO).
The Karachi AC heard a reference to illegal recruitment where former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi appeared in court.
NAB officials asked the court to withdraw the link.
The court granted the request and ordered the reference to be sent back to the NAB chairman.
Speaking to the media outside the court, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said today should be a happy day for us.
“After 4 years, NAB said to withdraw the link because I have been going to court for 12 years, it was not a case of corruption but only abuse of power,” he said.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that cases are being filed against political people and it would be better for the country if NAB is abolished.
