MULTAN: Olly Stone has been ruled out of the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to a right groin injury.
According to the franchise, Multan Sultans will be looking to replace him in due course.
The England speedster got injured during his first match of PSL 9 against Islamabad United on 20th February. He was forced off the field without completing the remaining two balls of his fourth over.
Sultans are currently at the top of the points table with three wins in as many matches and will face Peshawar Zalmi on their home turf today.
Led by Mohammad Rizwan, Multan Sultans convincingly beat defending champions Lahore Qalandars in their last game.
Despite the Qalandars trying to make the match from their first innings total of 166, Rizwan anchored the innings with 82 runs before departing with more than 50 runs still needed for victory.

Multan Sultans faced a tough situation until veteran finisher Iftikhar Ahmed unleashed a devastating onslaught. He made 24 runs in Zaman Khan’s final over to secure victory for his side with six balls to spare.
Under the leadership of Babar Azam, Peshawar Zalmi continue to struggle and have failed to secure a victory in the ongoing PSL 2024 season despite the captain’s commendable performance.
In their recent encounter against Karachi Kings, Zalmi posted a modest total of 154 runs, which proved insufficient against the formidable Kieron Pollard.
