Abbottabad: The great preacher and district imam of the World Assembly of the Finality of the Prophethood, District Ameer and District Khatib Mufti Abdul Wajid, passed away after a short illness. His funeral prayers were offered at the central Eidgah with poignant scenes. In which the central leaders of the World Assembly, Ahle Sunnah, Jamiat Ahle Hadith, eminent scholars of various schools of thought, great sheikhs, students of madrasas, and people of different schools of thought participated in thousands. The deceased was serving as the district preacher at the Central Jamia Mosque in Abbottabad. She was also the Ameer of the District World Assembly of Abbottabad. The deceased always dedicated his life to serving the religion of Islam and protecting the honor of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He suddenly fell ill for the past few days and died due to a short illness, which was buried in front of thousands of tearful eyes. The deceased was a person of very high qualities of a calm temperament. In addition to the loss of knowledge, Abbottabad was deprived of a great personality upon his death. It may be recalled that the late Mufti Abdul Wajid assumed the post of district emirate of the World Assembly of the Protection of the Finality of the Prophethood in 2018 after the death of the former preacher, the late Maulana Shafiqur-ur-Rehman. While the former district preacher at the Central Jamia Mosque in Abbottabad, Maulana Shafiqur-ur-Rehman He assumed this position in 2008 due to the illness of the deceased. Before him, Maulana Anisur Rahman, son of District Khatib Maulana Mufti Shafiqur Rahman, was serving as the District Khatib.
