ISLAMABAD: During the first half of the current fiscal year (2023–24), sales of motorbikes and three-wheelers in the nation decreased by 13.70 percent when compared to the same months the previous year.
According to the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA), 541,821 motorcycles and three-wheelers were sold between July and December of 2022–2023, compared to 627,835 units sold during the same period in 2022–2023.
During the reviewed months, sales of Suzuki motorcycles decreased by 64.42 percent, from 20,762 to 7,386 units, while sales of Honda bikes decreased by 10.01 percent, from 522,770 to 470,399 units.
In a similar vein, sales of Yamaha motorcycles decreased from 6,823 to 4,583 units.
The number of United Auto motorcycles sold fell from 50,384 to 42,196, a 16.25% decline.
In the meantime, sales of three-wheelers from Sazgar increased by 27.40 percent, from 3,868 to 4,928 units, while sales of three-wheelers from United Auto increased by 42.46 percent, from 770 to 1,097 units.
According to the data, sales of three-wheelers in Qingqi fell from 3,481 to 2,484 units, a reduction of 28.64 percent.
