LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has successfully secured a visa for fast bowler Mohammad Amir to participate in the three-match T20I series against Ireland.
Sources close to the PCB confirmed that the board’s logistics department was busy arranging Amir’s flight booking to Dublin, ensuring that he would leave in time to join the team.
Amir’s participation in the trip was initially uncertain due to visa issues. Although he submitted a visa application together with the team, the Irish Embassy initially refused his visa, causing concern for the PCB.
Board officials immediately challenged the Irish Cricket Board.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi joined in, expressing keen interest in resolving the issue.
Amir’s visa application was resubmitted and approved, allowing him to join the Pakistan cricket team for the Ireland series.
The development comes as a relief to Amir and the PCB and reflects the board’s commitment to providing good logistics to its players ahead of important tours and tournaments.
The first leg of the three-match series will begin tomorrow, while the second and third matches will be played at the same venue on May 12 and 14.
