KARACHI: A peaceful protest is the right of every individual. But politics is not given preference over national interests. Foreign investment does not pour in where there is political instability in the country, Awaam Pakistan Party leader Miftah Ismail said while speaking at an event here on Saturday.
“PTI must think that Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit is going to be held in Islamabad on October 15.
“This is not the proper time for protest in the capital. Using KP state machinery for the protest and brining shells to the protest venue is wrong,” Miftah Ismail said.
The government should give PTI permission for a peaceful demonstration.
PTI should also hold peaceful protests and shun politics of violence and hatred. Both PTI and government should settle issues taking one step back, the Awaam Pakistan Party leader said.
“Shehbaz Sharif should not take the government which does not have people’s mandate. With constitutional amendment package, a new court is being introduced.
“Even MPs don’t know what is constitutional amendment package? The government must think that it could face consequences of such amendments, he said.
