Paris: Kylian Mbappe had a heated battle with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) president Nasser Al-Khelaifi ahead of the club’s Ligue 1 final against Toulouse on Sunday.
Last week, Mbappe confirmed his departure from PSG in a video posted on his social media account, where the 25-year-old thanked his teammates, former coaches and other club officials, but did not mention Al-Khelaifi in the video.
According to La Parisien, Nasser asked the French why he was not mentioned in the video. The fight was so intense that the walls of the dressing room were “shaking”.
According to several reports in France, Mbappe and Al-Khelaifi have not spoken since February, when the Frenchman announced his decision not to stay at the club.
Mbappe left PSG after winning 14 trophies, including six league titles. However, he was unable to lead his team to European glory as they lost to Bayern Munich in the Champions League final despite going on to win in 2020.
In his video, Mbappe did not say where he was going, but reports suggest the Frenchman has signed a contract with Madrid in February, which the Spanish club could announce after June’s Champions League final. 1.
Mbappe has long been a target for Los Blancos as they attempted to sign the France international from AS Monaco, but a deal never materialised.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the signing fee for Mbappé will be around 100 million euros and will be paid over five seasons.
After almost seven years of waiting, Madrid can finally get Mbappé, who will join Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Goes, Jude Bellingham and others.
