SWAt: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan’s central leader and former senator Maulana Hafiz Hamdullah said that religious Madaris have been the strongholds of Islam since day one, but due to the evil intentions of global colonialism, not only religious schools were attacked after the war of independence, but the education system has also been enslaved.
He expressed these views while addressing the Dastar Fazilat Conference and Parents’ Day ceremony at Jamia Darul Uloom Swat and Jamia Public High School in Mangalwar on Thursday during his visit to Swat district.
On this occasion, Jamia President Maulana Noor Muhammad, Nazim Taalimaat Maulana Asghar Ali, Principal Jamia Public High School Abu Saeed, JUI Swat Ameer Maulana Said Qamar, Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, Qari Muhammad Usman (UK) also spoke.
The students delivered speeches in Urdu, Arabic and English and performed a practical demonstration of gymnastics.
“32 Huffaz of the Jamia received the Khatm-ul-Quran Karim on this occasion and Maulana Hafiz Hamdullah recited the last Surahs to the students and congratulated them.
Maulana Hafiz Hamdullah said that there was a time when there were 1000 religious Madaris in Delhi alone in the Indian subcontinent. Where religious and modern education was given together, but unfortunately after the war of independence, when the British established their rule, they first attacked religious institutions and later enslaved the education system.Due to which Muslims became degraded and their passion for freedom and independence was destroyed.
He said that now the times have changed and once again, scholars have started teaching modern sciences and technology along with religious education in religious institutions and a bright example of which is Jamia Darul Uloom Swat.
He said that even today, imperialism is trying to eliminate religious Madaris, but their evil intentions will never succeed.
Maulana Hafiz Hamdullah said that the scholars should graduate scholars and scientists from religious institutions together so that such people can come to Pakistan’s politics, economy, education and parliament to make this country a true fortress of Islam and eradicate corruption.
He said that it is a matter of regret that today our political system is corrupt and the education system is also servile. Due to which the country is suffering from decline instead of development.
At the end of the ceremony, the chief guest and other guests distributed shields among the students who achieved prominent positions, while the staff of the Jamia will be presented with gifts by the Honorable Qari Abidullah (UK).
