Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, has called on Pakistani-American entrepreneurs, executives and business leaders to invest in the country to achieve its economic development goals.
The Ambassador also focused on overcoming differences and strengthening Pakistan economically.
“Pakistan’s important interest in the OPEN Global Retreat 2024, a platform to explore opportunities to unite, cooperate and contribute to the development of the countries by strengthening the relationship between Pakistan and the United States, should be maintained in every possible way,” the states said.
The event was held in New York City from June 7th to June 9th.
“Don’t believe in doomsday and dark events; believe in your country. There is a bright light ahead. Invest in Pakistan,” he said.
Speaking at the meeting, OPEN Global President and business leader Abu Bakar gave a brief overview of OPEN’s activities during his presidency and outlined future plans. Tariq Khan, President of OPEN New York, and Amir Chalisa, President of OPEN Chicago, also spoke.
Founded in Boston in 1998, OPEN Global has grown into a global movement with 17 chapters in four climates: Boston, New York, Silicon Valley, Washington D.C., Houston, Dallas, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, London and Toronto.
The Ambassador acknowledged OPEN’s leadership in fostering a healthy professional community and said, “Open has become a brand.”
“Everyone has faith in Pakistan if they believe in an open Pakistan,” he said.
Emphasizing the importance of Pakistani-Americans as a “connective network” between Pakistan and the United States, Masood Khan said, “If other relationships fail, Pakistani-Americans will hold this relationship together.”
He said, Pakistan-US relations are facing difficulties.
